For parents looking for developmental support near Waseda in Shinjuku. This page helps you check public listings, visits, availability and transport.

How to search the official directory near Waseda

Select 児童発達支援 or 放課後等デイサービス in Tokyo’s official directory, then search Shinjuku. Save the name, address, service number and date. Waseda identifies your travel starting point; use the actual site address for comparison.

The city provider page also lists adult services. Check the service category first. Aiai offers developmental and service-use advice. Sources: Tokyo’s official directory and service search; Shinjuku City, Disability Service Providers.

What to ask before booking a visit

State age, school status, start month and weekday. Describe one support need. Ask separately about the visit and the service place.

For transport, give the nursery or school address. Check pickup, return, handover and short-school-day changes. These are questions for each candidate, not confirmed routes.

How to prepare the certificate in Shinjuku

Call Shinjuku City’s Disability Welfare Section, Support Subsection (障害者福祉課支援係), 03-5273-4583. Normal city-hall hours: weekdays 8:30–17:00, excluding holidays and year-end closure.

The tsusho jukyusha-sho (通所受給者証) records approved support. Discuss needs, apply, complete the interview and plan process, and receive the decision and certificate. Then check the provider contract.

Ask which form, identity/number documents, medical material and income documents apply. This is a checklist, not a universal requirement. A fixed issue time was not found in the application page. Share your start month. Sources: city application procedure, counter hours and handbook page 39.

What costs should you compare?

Separate the service charge from food, materials and other actual charges. National rules use a 10% contribution with a monthly income-based cap.

Ask the city which rule applies to the child and service. Packed lunches brought from home, event food and charges caused by absence are excluded. Ask the provider about its notification and any remaining charges. Source: Shinjuku City, Food Cost Coverage.

Three Waseda family situations

A two-year-old: tell Aiai about nursery life. Search preschool support and check family attendance and the journey from nursery.

Before school: search the future after-school service separately. Share the planned school and ask the city about changing services.

A school-age child: give the dismissal time and pickup point. Check the service place, vehicle seat, holiday timetable and home handover separately.

What to do when the answers do not fit

Keep the conflicting conditions visible. Ask which weekday or travel condition can change.

If the service has space but the vehicle is full, ask about family travel and tell the planner. If listings differ, compare service number and update date. Keep the listing date and telephone confirmation date separate.
