By tram and train

  • Tokyo Sakura Tram (Toden Arakawa Line) — Waseda Station, 1 minute on foot. The tram runs from the Ikebukuro side (Higashi-Ikebukuro-yonchome, Ōtsuka-ekimae) and from the Minowabashi / Arakawa side; Waseda is the terminus.
  • Tokyo Metro Tozai Line — Waseda Station, about 10 minutes on foot. One stop from Takadanobaba (JR Yamanote Line, Seibu Shinjuku Line), two stops from Iidabashi; direct from Kudanshita, Ōtemachi and Nihombashi, and from Nakano and the west.

If you are coming from the Shinjuku, Shibuya or Ikebukuro side, Takadanobaba (JR Yamanote) then the Tozai Line one stop is usually simplest. From the east and the city centre, the Tozai Line runs straight through. We can send a short route note in English before your visit if you tell us where you are starting from.

Help in English and other languages

This page is general information for families, based on the Japanese pages of our classroom and the public sources listed above. It is not medical advice and does not replace an assessment by a doctor or other specialist. Whether your child needs support, and which class your child enters at school, are decided with you by the relevant professionals and your ward — not by this page.

FAQ

Questions families ask

Is the classroom stroller-friendly?
It is on the 2nd floor of a small building one minute from the tram stop. Tell us when you book and we will let you know the easiest way in with a stroller.
Do you offer pick-up?
As a rule, no. Families bring their child to the classroom.
Which ward office do we use if we live outside Shinjuku?
Your own ward's. The certificate is issued where your child is registered as a resident and can be used here.

You do not need a diagnosis, a certificate, or fluent Japanese to take the first step. Send us a message in English, tell us your child's age and what you are noticing about their speech and language, and we will take it from there.
